Acupuncture

At Apricot Grove, various approaches to acupuncture are available to suit the individual needs of patients.

Generally speaking, acupuncture used alone is most appropriate for treatments involving the structure of the body, for example: muscle, bone and joint pain, physical tension, and problems with posture. Acupuncture also has a profound effect on the mind and emotions and can relax mental tension and soothe the mind; calm the emotions; relieve stress, over-thinking, and depression; and improve sleep.

Because acupuncture aims to treat the root of health and disease, it is effective in the treatment of chronic, nagging conditions and a valuable complement to many other treatment modalities such as: physical therapy, chiropractic, surgery, psychotherapy, counseling, pharmaceuticals, and yoga therapy.

In conjunction with Chinese herbal medicine, the scope of acupuncture is broadened to include an even wider variety of concerns involving all levels of health and wellbeing.
